Contract

Every project should have a contract regardless of the size. In the State of Oregon the law says that a contract is required for projects over $2,000.00. However, in order to protect yourself, you should require a contract for all jobs that include a timetable, list of materials to be used, brands of materials and payment schedule.

Communication

Payment Structure

The last thing to consider is the payment structure. We at Valley Roofing ask for half upfront to schedule the job. The reasoning behind this is two-fold: it allows us to pay for the materials in advance, and it represents some good faith and “skin in the game” from you, our client. Once we order materials for your project, much of which in the siding world is custom or non-refundable, everyone involved needs to realize and accept the binding nature of the agreement.
